Led by George Trebar on Bass with Roy Hilton on piano, Joe Edwards on drums and Matt Wates on alto saxophone. The Quartet focusses on music from Hollywood and European films as well as their own compositions and arrangements of 20th century music. The focus of this band is as wide as the tastes of the members and includes film soundtracks, hard bop, neo bop and nu jazz. The Nighthawks performed at the 2017 Love Supreme Festival in Glynde.
Bassist George Trebar and his quartet Nighthawks debut album for Rubicon Jazz is a reflective and affectionate look at the parallels of jazz and cinema interspersed with original compositions by Trebar.
